We invite you to be a part of Captain Avery Museum's Winter Giving Campaign, which kicks off the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Your end-of-year contributions will help us continue to preserve and enhance our community's cultural heritage in 2025.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
The Captain Avery Museum is a vital and inclusive learning center that engages and inspires the surrounding communities to value our history and preserve Shady Side’s maritime and recreational history.
We are proud to continue in our quest to showcase native and sustainable landscapes, provide public water access and offer inclusive and accessible educational programming, exhibits and events. Our Captain's Cafe this fall delved into matters of great public interest — from seeding life-giving oysters in our waters to examining the divide in our politics — issues that will again be featured in our weekly Winter Luncheon Series starting in January 2025. And next spring (May 10, 2025), the Captain Avery Museum will be a hub in the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage, bringing scores of people to our shores.
We are excited about these upcoming events, and so much more, and we hope you will support us, as we strive to raise awareness of our Chesapeake Bay heritage and build a thriving community of cultural and environmental stewards one visitor at a time.
With this in mind, we are reaching out to ask each and every one of you to donate to the Captain Avery Annual Giving Campaign.
Preserving Our History, While Forging Forward Together
Your support can help us:
By making a donation, you will be contributing to celebrating and highlighting our three centuries of Chesapeake Bay history and culture along our .67-acre waterfront site. And you will make a difference, by helping to expand cultural opportunities for ALL, as we work towards creating a welcoming and healthy environment, where arts and culture bring people of all backgrounds together to enrich, bind, and celebrate OUR community and OUR history.
