Learn how border collies are trained to herd sheep and watch them in action - a crowd pleaser for adults and children alike. Eileen Stein, past President of the American Border Collie Association, will discuss how she trains her dogs and assesses their suitability for herding. You will also watch as a fully trained dog shows the skills needed to be a useful sheepdog, and a younger dog shows how training progresses to reach that goal. The demonstration will last about an hour and takes place in an open field. This is a stand-up event so feel free to bring a lawn chair. Light Refreshments will be served.
