The National Ballet Institute for the Arts is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a lively evening of food, drink and entertainment. Feast on great food, including Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef and Cabbage plus a bit of Guinness and decadent sweets while savoring a bit of Irish entertainment: “Memories of the Green.” The ballet is choreographed by Pam MacLean and set to the music Winter’s Crossing , composed by Phil Coulter and James Galway. Set in the late 1880’s the musical score tells the story of a group of emigrants who leave the shores of Ireland to seek a new life in North America. They came with few processions to remind them of their homeland, but they did have their music, songs and stories to tell. The ballet tells of their departure, their crossing of the Atlantic, their arrival on the east coast of America and finally the celebration of their new homeland.
Admission: $60 Adults, $40 for Children and Seniors
