2b. Dog Herding at Slippery Slope Farm $25
Learn how border collies are trained to herd sheep and watch them in action -a crowd pleaser for adults and children alike. Eileen Stein, past President of the American Border Collie Association will discuss how she trains her dogs and assesses their suitability for herding. You will also watch as two of her dogs go through some herding exercises – one a young dog who is still in the early stages of training, and the other an older, fully trained herder. The demonstration will last about an hour and takes place in an open field. This is a stand-up event so feel free to bring a lawn chair. Refreshments and pastries will be served.

Here’s a perfect opportunity for you, your child or grandchild! Barbara Miller offers a starter package of six lessons on the cello for either a beginning or intermediate cellist. The lessons are 40 minutes each. Barbara will tell each student which cello book(s) to provide; purchaser needs to own or rent a cello.

Work with quilter, Prue Hoppin, to select motifs from her amazing fabric “stash” and customize a quilt for a young child. Put in items that symbolize favorite activities or objects.
